UL (Underwriters Laboratories) is a standards developer organisation accredited in the US and Canada. The organisation combines extensive safety research, scientific expertise, and an uncompromising focus on quality to help build a safer, more sustainable world. UL partners with national standards bodies in countries worldwide. The organisation is most widely known for developing standards for electrical products (e.g. luminaries). Currently, there are more than 1,500 UL standards.
