EN safety standards are an integral part of CE marking. Manufacturers can use them to prove compliance with the essential provisions of the EU CE directives and regulations. These standards are developed by a standardisation institute, such as CEN, CENELEC, or ETSI, and are mandated by the European Commission. Products that conform with the EN standards’ requirements benefit from an automatic presumption of conformity. The EN standards include the following types of content: scope, normative reference, terms and definitions, requirements, warnings, markings and instructions, and test methods.
